I got this watch for Christmas and my experience with it has been amazing. The quality of the materials used look and feel very high quality. The band is soft and feels amazing while wearing. The actual device is just as great the screen is bright and easy to see in the sun and the screen in very responsive. The ui is great easy to use. The battery is great lasts me all day. But like every device it has some flaws like some apps are very limited for example SoundCloud, if you use the app version you have to connect to a Bluetooth device but if u go to the browser u can just play it from the speakers from the watch. Moving on to the browser, I like how you can scale the page but sometimes the scaling messes up and it zooms in super far even tho it's zoomed all the way out. It might just be user error I wish that the browser was updated for the watch. Even though it has some flaws the pros greatly out weigh cons and I believe it's a great choice if your looking for a samsung wearable.

This is my first smartwatch so I don't have a lot of perspective in terms of comparison. But WearOS seems to be the future, and this is about the only watch that has it right now. I can compare the 'regular' to the Classic, as I bought both. I kept the Classic. It is bigger and noticeably heavier, which I did not want. But the regular Watch4, while small and light, also felt and looked much cheaper. I was also concerned about the Aluminum casing holding up to daily knocks and scrapes over time. I don't care what marketing name they attach to it, aluminum will never compare to stainless steel in durability. Also, the Classic has the screen recessed so it is further protected. And that surround is the moving bezel - something that I couldn't see living without once I'd used it. Swiping a tiny screen (especially with less than clean hands, or gloves) is no way to navigate a device this small. I'm still adjusting to getting the most out of a smartwatch, but I'm confident of the hardware choice, at least. I did buy this more as a notification-access device than workout monitor. As for the health features, I'm not certain how much I trust them yet, But as an adjunct for critical notices, it's working well. You do get granular control over what comes through, which is essential.

I wasn't sure about the idea for a while, then I got serious about my heath and bought one of these watches as a timer. A year later and I literally can't go without this thing now!! It tracks absolutely everything I do and updates my Samsung Health app simultaneously! I can answer phone calls on the watch, respond to text msgs, see my activity, heart rate, steps and pretty much any app in my phone, it's on this little watch! I use it when I workout to track my effort and progress, time and other metrics. When I go on a bike ride, it tracks my distance and maps where I rode on a map, my average speed, distance and time. I use it to track my sleep quality and length, as well as the calm app to wind down. It's amazing and I love it! The only thing I would say it needs is the ability to track and record ab workouts. Lol. I will be upgrading to the newest watch version and honestly will be a life long user!

No More IPhone Compatibility!

The 2-star rating is not because the watch is bad, it’s because Samsung took away compatibility with the iPhone. I was content to not have complete iPhone compatibility because I like the round face of the Samsung over the rectangular face of the Apple Watch, and the Samsung still enabled me to view messages, etc. I didn’t have full compatibility but that didn’t bother me. I had an Active 2 series before this one and when I got home and tried to pair it with my iPhone I could not. I read up and found out that Samsung took away compatibility period because of their new Wear OS system. I’m sure android phone owners could easily bash Apple for their watches as well. It sure would be nice if companies could work together and let people choose the best of both worlds so they can build their own “home” and decorate it how they would like to. However, it is not to be. If you want the Samsung watch, you had better get their phone. If you want the Apple Watch, you had better get their phone. Again, I am only giving this rating because I was a previous Samsung owner, not because I tried it for the first time and then had to return it. I bought an Apple Watch now and it has turned me away from Samsung. As I have not used the Active 4 series I cannot tell you how it works - the Active 2 series is great so I am sure the 4 series is great also, just don’t buy it thinking you can interface it with an iPhone.

Have had many Garmin and Samsung. I am active most days of week. Run, bike, cardio, weights. The design of the Watch 4 is great. Like the band tucking in behind the clasp. I dropped the watch on the concrete in September two days after getting while running at a good clip, fiddling with band. It scuffed the side and slid 10-ft on face along pavement but luckily didn't scratch screen. Battery. Around 36 hours with activity. Cont HR, raise to wake, auto brightness. Fair amount of email and glances at watch per day. Charge 10% to 80% in one hour. 35min to charge 80 to 100% GPS is a little more erratic than Watch3 and Active 2. It under tracks mileage slightly compared to garmin. 3.0miles vs 2.9miles. Heart rate wasn't good for bike when first released. An update improved it. It can be off and it will stop recording when it can't find accurate HR, but overall, after the update, it does work better than previous Samsung, I will guess. It occasionally stops recording at night and shoots to 160+ HR before stopping which is annoying. Probably laying head on my wrist is what I am guessing. Android and smart watch features are great. It's very little different than previous versions. It has google play store and apps which beyond email and text, I assume it would have better social media integration for those that follow it on their phones. The operating system is very snappy. I have used the body comp a lot. It can be inaccurate, but if you take a reading on empty stomach and first thing in morning it's giving a good baseline for fat-muscle better than just an estimated BMI. Calories now appear to be calculated based on HR for activity. In previous version it estimated on several activities. My opinion, it overestimates running and underestimates many of the others. It's an estimate and I like how Samsung tracks steps, calories, and activity minutes on several watch faces. If you exercise a lot then steps aren't really that important, but just moving during the day is an indicator of baseline activity and adds to overall daily calorie burn. Overall, it was way cheaper than Garmin and the Smarts are off the scale in comparison. It lacks the accuracy and information of a Garmin, but for the connected world we live in, I suspect it's a good option for many. The battery life is less than previous Samsungs, but I do like this version has the swipe back to navigate. Samsung eliminated that during a Gear S2 update many years ago.

Very Competent Smartwatch, Wish it were Prettier

If you want ro know about this watch, there are plenty of written and video reviews, Im not going to tell you anything about the watch you can't find out by doing a bit of searching. My main gripe is that the supplied band is kind of blah, very average silicone band. Minor thing, but for the price, would like something that feels more premium. I got this watch because I love the tactile experience of the mechanical bezel to move amongst apps. It is silky smooth and very gratifying. I am a big fat man, so I appreciate the fitness tracking as I attempt to be less fat, but Im not out there running marathons so I can't really comment on those features. Things like the stress gauge and body composition seem pretty gimmicky, but the sleep tracking made me realize I need to get treatment for apnea so that was a good nudge for my health and maybe justifies the purchase altogether. I also wish, as the title implies, that it was a bit more visually interesting. Granted I did get the black version, but I wish it looked as good as what an analog watch at this price might look. I've worn this in the shower a number of times and it has not had any issues. I would not have any reservations wearing it while swimming.

Best Feature:Still a capable smartwatch after 2 years release Performance:not as fast as the latest models, but still good Product Quality:very good build quality, doesnt feel cheap Works best if you have a samsung phone. We tested most features, the ECG detects the heartbeat but doesn't seem to record properly. We can't use the blood pressure monitor yet because we need to calibrate it with a real one. We bought it for the strava (running and cycling). All the other features are just icing on the cake. Glad we waited for the price to go down, last year this was around Php 16,000.

Bought this about 2 months ago. Works flawlessly and the health and activity features on it are the best ones available on the market. I specifically got the Watch4 Classic because of the rotating bezel because I tend to swim a lot and with the old Watch2 that I upgraded from, not having the rotating bezel was a major pain as I was having issues with screen sensitivity when it was wet. The rotating bezel fixes that problem and also feels nice to the touch and use. My biggest gripe is with the battery life on this thing. I believe it's more so a software issue than a hardware one because the Watch2 uses Tizen OS and the Watch4 uses Wear OS by Google with Samsung's own customized skin on it. The interface is flawless but the battery drain is quite high. With moderate usage I barely get over a day with this whereas with my Watch2, I was able to easily get 2 days on the same amount of use. Google Pay is a little finnicky on it too and I would recommend sticking with Samsung Pay instead as I was running into the problem of the watch locking itself every 5-10 minutes sometimes and when I looked the issue up, it was due to Google Pay. Once I removed it from the app, it was perfectly fine. The display on it is pretty crisp too and I have no difficulties in watching it under bright sunlight. Overall, highly recommended. Would give this 5 stars if future software updates can fix the battery issue with it. P.S. if you want a more dressy than a sporty look with this watch, I would recommend getting a leather strap that is easily exchangeable with this watch. The classic brown leather strap goes super nice with this for special occasions!
